About Me:
I began telling stories to my great grandmother as a small child. At first she told me stories but as she grew older she had me make up stories and tell them to her. As an adult, at the Homewood Library, I picked up storytelling again.
If you have enjoyed one of my programs please leave me a message in the guest book!
Yes! I also teach storytelling. When you learn story telling, you learn to incorporate public speaking, writing and the art of oral tradition all together. I love seeing all of that come together in the students I teach!
When I perform, I love seeing the audience participate with me. Their smiles and laughter are wonderful. That sparkle in those eyes and the excitement I see when they connect with the stories, and me, is one of the purest joys in the world.
Here is my promise to my clients:
When you hire me, you are hiring a profession with a lot of experience. I've heard of and seen some program disasters through the years. I learned from what I saw. I can promise you professionalism and reliability along with the art and fun of a story telling program.
You can count on me to show up for any show that you book with me. I will plan my driving time in order to show up fifteen minutes before a program. I am reliable and consistent as you can see on my testimonial page. I've even, believe it, or not, done programs when my voice was "lost". That is quite a story of it's own! I have an old fashioned work ethic.
I am flexible. Not much throws me. I've done programs for anywhere from three people to over three hundred. I like to know what to expect, but I understand that when you advertise a program to the public, you often don't know how many or what ages will show up. I've gone to programs that I was told to plan for teens then found pre-schoolers and vice versa.
I never repeat a story, unless specifically asked, I don't repeat any story at any venue for at least two years. The only exception to this rule is if I am seeing multiple classes but doing the same theme in the same month or when I'm asked to do a particular story I've already done by the person who books my services.
If we agree on, or I advertise, certain program elements, they will be in the program as promised. You can discuss your story program needs with me. I will incorporate those important key points into the program I craft for you. If you book a program I've advertised, you will get that program exactly as I promoted it. Check my testimonials page to hear this and more from some of my clients.
You can always count on all that and on me!
